this is my partner! her name is stella and she is super sweet and cool... i just wanted to have a place to talk about her and share the art i've made of us together :)

i often have a hard time expressing my appreciation for her, but she is a really wonderful person who encourages me to love the world and be a better person every day. she's very funny and knowledgeable and passionate about so many things... she reminds me of how i used to be when i was younger. she's very driven and skilled and she is one of the most amazing people i know! she's the one that i keep the closest to my heart.

she likes so many cool things! like animated robots and video games and movies and animals and formula one. she has a lot to say about many things, which is one of my favourite things about her (even if it is a lot sometimes. like a lot a lot.) i always learn a lot from her and it's never a boring day when we spend time together...

she's also inspired me to start drawing more again. illustration is something that i've always enjoyed doing, but for a long time i really struggled with enjoying what i was drawing. making art and sharing it especially online was a lot of pressure for me... i often felt like i drew because i had to, things that would other people would enjoy rather than creating what i really wanted. my art used to be more dull and uninspired, and i could never really decide on how i wanted my art to look... it switched a lot between abstract paintings or rushed, unfinished illustrations. there was never a clear picture in my head.

being with my girlfriend motivates me to draw more often... i like to make art of us together because i'm not great at expressing my love and appreciation with words ^_^' i started to make silly little drawings of us together and give them to her as gifts, which i've come to realize not only helps me practice more often but has given me a distinct and more consistent image! it's gotten more cartoony, but it's also become more colorful and vibrant and expressive. i also take the opportunity to experiment with styles, especially with paper and mixed media. like something out of a high school notebook? i think concepts like those are very cute...it's silly and cheesy to think that it's because she makes me feel young again and has put color back into my life... but it really does feel that way. it's only a little embarrassing but i love her a lot! >_<
